In both towns, Kalimpong and Darjeeling there is a sense of normalcy now after the Covid lockdown. There has been relaxation on essential services and even micro business, so the town is now fully open more or less. But the Covid cases are rising every day in some parts of town and mainly far flung places. Despite that, people are used to such news and are living by it and all business sectors and markets are functioning back again.
India is expecting the third wave of Covid in a few months, according to the news updates, may be another lockdown can be imposed then. But now with less restrictions, it looks quite normal! People have also been travelling from neighbouring towns and so are the pet owners who want to get their pet animals spayed, checked and treated at Kalimpong Animal Shelter (KAS).
